The national Bank of Ukraine is considering the possibility of issuing electronic hryvnia on the basis of innovative technologies.
About it reports a press-service of the NBU.
As noted, the Bank evaluates the possibility of implementation of blockchain technology.
“Now, the NBU is working on the possibility of creating such software and technological solutions. Its implementation will allow to build a nationwide, transparent and efficient retail payment platform with minimal transaction costs and almost instant transfer of money from one participant to another”, – said the press service.
It is noted that in the first stage, the possibility of a pilot implementation of the prototype platform and innovative payment tool.
The pilot project is to be conducted on a voluntary basis with the involvement of proactive participants of the payment market of Ukraine.
After implementation of the pilot project and evaluation of its results, the Bank will decide on further action concerning a full-scale deployment of the platform and subsequent phases.
