The NAB has started investigation against the Minister of infrastructure Omelyana

Minister suspected of illicit enrichment.

National anti-corruption Bureau started an investigation against the Minister of infrastructure Volodymyr Omelyan, on suspicion of illicit enrichment. This is stated in the materials of the court.

As noted, the detectives NAB the criminal proceedings from may 26, upon Declaration of false information and illicit enrichment of Minister of infrastructure.

During a pretrial investigation it is established that starting from 10 December 2016 Omeljan, his wife and their son began to reside in the home that is rightfully private property owned by the cousin niece wife. Estimated value of the house is 7 million hryvnia.

The detective pointed out that according to information from the State fiscal service revenues that would allow the niece to purchase a specified house, the latter did not.

Also mother niece gave power of attorney to Omeljan on the right of control car brand Lexsus RX 350, which testifies to their trust relationships.

The detective emphasizes that in his e-return for the 2016 infrastructure Minister did not specify the right to use the house in which he lives with his family.

Also the pre-trial investigation established that the Minister in 2015 is BMW X5, which belongs to his brother.

The vehicle was also not specified in his declarations for 2015 and 2016.

According to the pre-trial investigation body, Omelyan deliberately submitted false information to the electronic Declaration.

It is noted that according to information received from SFS, accrued income Omelyana for 2012-2016 is 1 273 985 UAH.

The gross income of the wife as an individual entrepreneur and accrued income as an individual for 2012-2016 is 2 years 321 122 USD.

At the same time in the Declaration and for 2015 and 2016 the Minister said he has savings in the amount of 90 000 USD and 25 000 Euros, his wife has savings in the amount of 70 000 USD.

Thus Omeljan since 1999 has worked exclusively in public service.

The detective stated that a niece of his wife since September 2012, left the territory of Ukraine and has not yet returned.

As for her family members, in the period from 2012 to 2016, their combined income amounted to 2 150 172 USD.

At the same time over the same period, they received a property 5 properties and 2 cars.

In this regard, the detective NAB asked the court to provide access to information about mobile talks Omelyana, his wife, brother, mother, and 3 drivers.

The court granted the investigators access only to information about your negotiations of the Minister of infrastructure for the period from 1 December 2016 to 1 January 2017.

The court’s decision is not appealable.
