It’s like they vanished into thin air.
Thousands of people every year go missing and the cases of these disappearances are truly discouraging when investigators have virtually nothing would work — a situation in which nobody saw anything, and no reasonable explanation. It is almost the same, if these people literally vanished into thin air.
1. Maura Murray
Ninth February 2004 21-year-old student of the University of Massachusetts Maura Murray said by e-mail to your teachers and employers that forced to leave in connection with the death (fictional) of one of her family members. The same evening she had an accident, smashing his car against a tree not far from Woodsville, new Hampshire. By a strange coincidence, a couple of days before Maura also had an accident and smashed another car.
The driver of a passing bus came up and asked Maura whether to call the police. The girl replied “no”, but the driver still made the call, as soon as I got to the nearest phone. When ten minutes later the police arrived, Maura was gone.
At the scene found no signs of a struggle, so maybe Maura asked someone to drive her. The next day, the groom, Maura from Oklahoma has received a voice message, supposedly from her, but I heard on the other end just crying. Although Maura in the last days before the disappearance was a bit strange, her family does not believe she disappeared willingly.
It’s been nine years, but what happened to the girl to find out and failed.
2. Brandon Swenson
On the evening of may 14, 2008, when the nineteen-year-old Brandon Swanson was returning to his hometown of Marshall, Minnesota, on a rural gravel road, his car flew into a ditch. Brandon called his parents and asked for him to come. Those immediately went in search of his son, but was unable to find it. Father called him back, Brandon picked up the phone and he said he was trying to get to the nearest town of Lead. And in the middle of the conversation, Brandon suddenly swore and the connection ended abruptly.
Brandon’s dad tried to call back several times but got no answer and couldn’t find son. Police later found Brandon’s car, but couldn’t find neither the guy nor his cell phone. According to one version he was accidentally drowned in the nearby river, but no trace of the body it was found. No one knows what prompted Brandon to swear during a call, but that was the last that anybody heard from him.
3. Louis Le Prince
Louis Le Prince, a famous French inventor, who was the first to capture moving images on film. Oddly enough, the “father of cinema” remember, and as the subject of one of the most bizarre disappearances in history. 16 September 1890, Le Prince was visiting his brother in Dijon, and then went by train to Paris. When the train arrived at the destination, it turned out that Le Prince disappeared.
The last time Le Prince saw in his car, after checking the Luggage. Traces of violence or something suspicious during the trip were found, no one could remember what they saw Le Prince outside his car. The Windows were tightly closed, so jump off a train would be quite difficult, but suicide in General it seemed unlikely, as Le Prince was going to go to America to get a patent on his new invention.
As a result of the disappearance of a patent for a peep show (apparatus for demonstrating sequential photographs of the movement) went to Thomas Edison. As for Le Prince, his fate still remains a mystery.
4. Michael Negret
At four in the morning on the tenth of December 1999, 18-year-old freshman at the University of California named Michael Negret turn off your computer — the whole night he was playing video games with friends. At nine in the morning woke up his roommate and noticed that Michael was gone, but left all their belongings, including keys and wallet. Most of it never saw.
The most curious and the disappearance of Michael — the guy even left his shoes. Investigators used search dogs, trying to track Michael to the bus stop, located a few miles from the hostel, but how could he go so far without shoes? Not far from the scene at 4:35 am saw only one person, but no one knows whether it’s associated with Michael’s disappearance. There is no reason to assume that Michael was gone at his own request, but news of the fate of Michael no more than ten years.
5. Barbara Bolik
18 Jul 2007 Barbara Bolik, 55-year-old woman from Corvallis, Montana, went Hiking in the mountains together with his friend Jim Ramaker, who came from California. When Jim stopped to admire the scenery, Barbara was 6-9 meters behind him, but turning around in less than a minute, he found that the woman disappeared. To search joined the police, but to find the woman and failed.
At first glance, the story of Jim Ramaker sounds absolutely incredible. However, he cooperated with the authorities, and, as evidence of his involvement in the disappearance of Barbara was not, he ceased to be a suspect. The perpetrator probably would have tried to come up with a better story, not to say that his victim simply vanished into thin air. It’s been six years, but traces of violent death was never found, and any hints on what could happen with Barbara.
6. Michael Chiron
23 Aug 2008 a 51-year-old Michael Giron went to his farm in happy valley, Tennessee with plans to mow the lawn. That morning, neighbors saw Michael left the farm on his ATV – and that was the last time he was seen. The next day Michael’s friends visited the farm and saw his truck parked on the road. It was attached to the trailer, where we found a lawnmower, but the grass on the lawn remained untouched. His friends returned the next day and became concerned when he saw the truck parked in the same place, which was still lying keys, mobile and wallet.
Three days after Michael disappeared, investigators found a single clue: all-terrain vehicle on a steep hill located one mile from his home. However, it was unclear why he needed to go. In addition, there was no trace of violence. Michael had no enemies and any other reason to hide, so his disappearance was truly an incomprehensible mystery.
7. April Fabb
One of the most famous disappearances in British history took place in Norfolk, 8 April 1969. 13-year-old schoolgirl named April Fabb left the house and went to his sister in a nearby village. She went there by bike, and the last time she saw the truck driver. 14:06 he noticed how the girl was driving on a country road. 14:12 her bike was found in the middle of a field a few hundred yards from the place where it was seen, but no trace of April was not.
Abduction seemed the most likely scenario for the disappearance of April, but the attacker would have just six minutes to kidnap the girl and leave the crime scene so that no one noticed. Large-scale search for April was not given anything.
This case has a lot to do with the disappearance of another young girl, Janet Tate in 1978, so as a possible suspect was seen Robert black is a notorious killer of children. However, there is no evidence to definitively determine his involvement in the disappearance of April, so the mystery remains unsolved.
8. Brian Shaffer
27-year-old medical student from the University in Ohio in the evening on the first of April 2006 went to a bar. Somewhere between 1:30 and 2:00 he mysteriously disappeared. That night he drank a lot and, after talking with his girlfriend on his cell phone, he was last seen in the company of two young women. However, no one in the bar could remember seeing him after that.
The most difficult question in this story, which has remained unanswered, is how Brian exited the bar. The footage from the surveillance camera clearly shows how he went into a bar, but no one frame was not sealed as it came out! No friends of Brian or his family do not believe he disappeared intentionally. Three weeks earlier he was a good student and planned to go on vacation with his girlfriend. But if brown had stolen or he was the victim of another crime, the attacker pulled him out of the bar, unnoticed, neither witnesses nor surveillance cameras?
9. Jason Jolkowski
On the morning of 13 June 2001, 19-year-old Jason Jolkowski got called into work. He asked his friend to pick him up at a nearby high school, but they never appeared.
The last time Jason saw his roommate, about half an hour before the scheduled meeting, when the guy put the trash cans in your garage. CCTV camera high school show that he wasn’t there. Jason didn’t have personal problems or any other reasons, to disappear there is also no evidence that it could have something to happen. His fate remains a mystery, and twelve years later.
In 2003, Jim and Kelly Jolkowski immortalized the name of his son, founding own project, a nonprofit organization that has become one of the most famous funds for the families of the missing.
10. Nicole Morin
July 30, 1985, eight year old Nicole Morin left the penthouse of his mother in Toronto. That morning, Nicole was going for a swim in the pool with his girlfriend. She said goodbye to mother and left the apartment, but 15 minutes later her friend came to know why Nicole has not yet emerged.
Nicole’s disappearance led to one of the largest police investigations in Toronto history, but the traces of girls was never found. The most plausible was the assumption that someone could steal Nicole immediately after she left the apartment, but the building had twenty floors, so it would be pretty hard to discreetly get her out of there. One of the tenants said that he saw Nicole suitable to the Elevator, but no one else saw or heard. Almost thirty years later, the government has not collected enough data to determine what happened to Nicole Morin.
