The abolition of the duty on electric vehicles in Ukraine increased their sales by 3.4 times, up to 1600 units, and allowed to enter the top 15 countries in Europe in absolute terms and lead the list as the pace of growth in the number of electric cars in comparison with 2015.
It is reported by the Federation of employers of the automotive industry.
According to ACEA (statistics on vehicles with all-electric drive), the range of the Ukrainian market of electric vehicles is not very diverse.
The sales leader is the Nissan Leaf – it forms about 78% of the fleet of electric cars in the country. For comparison: the share of its nearest competitor the Ford Focus is 4.1% and the Tesla Model S is only 3.5%.
It is also noted that in 2016 in Ukraine the number of charging stations for electric vehicles increased almost four times – with 153 to 577.
