The Voynich Manuscript
The Voynich manuscript is considered to be one of the most mysterious manuscript in the world. It was discovered in 1912 in Northern Italy. Language and the author of the manuscript is still unknown. According to archaeologists, preserved only 240 pages of the manuscript, while a significant portion of the pages are missing. Drawings of various herbal plants – the most interesting part of Scripture that does not correspond to any of the known types of plants. As I believe the Voynich manuscript was written in the 15th century. In addition to the herbal section, it also contains astronomical, biological, cosmological and pharmaceutical section.
MoA of mount Owen
In 1986, during excavations in a cave in New Zealand, a group of archaeologists found a claw of a bird with remnants of flesh and muscle. Later scientists have confirmed that this paw flightless MoA bird extinct for over 2000 years ago. Flightless MoA was a heavy bird up to 3 meters in height and up to 250 kg in weight. The reason for the disappearance of steel, ancient people hunted this bird. Found paw MoA preserved in the Museum of natural history of New Zealand.
Sacsayhuaman
Sacsayhuaman is an ancient Inca fortress, located in Machu Picchu, Peru. The construction of this complex structure was begun in 1440 by Emperor Pachacuti. It took over 100 years to complete the city. The wall is composed of many different types of stone, including blocks of diorite, limestone UCA and dark andesite, where each block weighs hundreds of tons. 600 meter protective wall of Sacsayhuaman has a zigzag shape, protecting known archaeological tower, the sun temple and other buildings of the city.
The Nazca Lines
The Nazca lines – a series of geoglyphs in the southern desert of Peru. This is one of the most popular popular world heritage sites of UNESCO in the country. Mysterious ancient formation have the form of trapezoids, rectangles, triangles, and 70 animals, plants, and other geometric shapes. The purpose of the Nazca Lines is still unknown. Archaeologists have estimated that the lines were created by the Nazca Indians between 500 BC and 700 ad. Surprisingly, these ancient drawings remain intact for 2,000 years. Numerous number of people still believe that these lines were created by aliens for later return to Earth.
Gobekli Tepe
Gobekli Tepe is the oldest archaeological site in the world, located in Turkey. Thanks to this idea we got a glimpse of the life of stone age people approximately 11,000 years ago. The construction of the buildings they used huge stone pillars weighing 15 to 22 tons, carved out of huge blocks of rocks. During the excavations the archaeologists found 200 giant pillars, of which was built a temple of ancient people. This discovery helped archaeologists to study in detail the Neolithic revolution.
The Terracotta Army
In 1974 a group of Chinese archaeologists in XI’an conducted excavations, revealing the outstanding work of funeral art in the world – the Terracotta army. They found thousands of clay soldiers buried near the tomb of the first Emperor of China Qin Shi Huang. The clay soldiers were buried with him for protecting from different forces after death. The age of this ancient complex is about 2,200 years old. Along with sculptures, were also found. The complex consists of 4 main pits, three of which are occupied terracotta army and weapons, and the fourth remains empty. A large part of the tomb of the Emperor still remains unexcavated.
The Moai Statues
The Moai statues on Easter island – one of the most mysterious archaeological discoveries ever made. These statues are the main attraction on Easter island – one of the most remote island of Chile. The Moai statues were carved by ancient people of Rapa Nui between 1300 and 1500 years BC. There are 288 statues located in different parts of the Island. The height of the Moai is 4 meters, and the whole 80 tons. The people of Rapa Nui used rocks of an extinct volcano, creating their creations. The researchers also found that some of the statues have legs, located below ground level.
Stonehenge
Stonehenge – prehistoric 5,000 year old monument located in the English city of Salisbury. This monument was composed of many small and large stone blocks. The largest of the boulders of Sandstone reaches a height of 10 meters and weighs about 25 tons. The actual purpose of the construction and purpose of Stonehenge is still unknown. Stonehenge was built between 3000 and 2000 BC, the Neolithic builders brought huge stones from the Preseli hills of more than 200 kilometers from this mysterious monument. The researchers believed that a strong Tsunami struck the city in the 10th Millennium BC, plunging it to the bottom of the ocean. But the actual truth of Atlantis is still unknown, as one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in the world. Ancient historians claimed that Atlantis was built by the God of the sea Poseidon and occupied a vast territory. Researchers have not determined the actual location of the city because of the enormous size and great depth of the Atlantic ocean.
