The Russian opposition, upon hearing the decision, said that the trainees judges will go to his next rally.
The Moscow city court upheld the detention of opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who was detained Sunday after anti-corruption March in the center of Moscow, reports from the courtroom correspondent Bi-bi-si Vsevolod Boyko.
Attorney Bulk Olga Mikhailova said that the decision will be appealed. Navalny himself, on hearing the decision, appealed to the judge with the words: “Your interns very surprised. They will go with us on the next rally”.
Earlier Mikhailov, filed a complaint for the arrest of Navalny, insisted that arrest and trial was held with numerous violations.
Navalny was detained March 26, at the anti-corruption rally in Central Moscow. He had not pleaded guilty to disobeying a police officer and violation of the rules of the meeting.
Action against corruption took place on 26 March throughout Russia. In Moscow, where the action in the center of the city was not coordinated with the city, police arrested 1030 people, estimated by the monitoring group to “ATS-info”. Officially the police said at least about 600 detainees.
