The weather conditions were far from optimal, but the loss was of a fragmentary character.
The Ministry of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine increased the forecast of grain yield of cultures on 5%, to 63.1 million tonnes in 2018.
This was announced by first Deputy Minister of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine Maxim Martyniuk on Facebook.
“We adjust our previous estimate (60 million tonnes+) in the direction of increasing and expected that the harvest will amount to 63.1 million tonnes. Growth is a group of late crops. The weather conditions were far from optimal, but the loss was of a fragmentary character and in the end we have a decent ratio of wheat/fodder level 60/40”, – he wrote.
The forecast of exports, according to Martynyuk, also increased, to 42 million tons.
“Good news in itself, but the world situation (poor harvests in the countries of supply, the price increase) raises its status to “gorgeous”,” – said the Deputy Minister.
“Two words about autumn sowing. If the spring field work started late, now on the contrary, the crop started almost a week early. As of 10 September, winter crops for grain were sown 237,1 thousand hectares, which is 3% of the forecast. Rain is a bonus,” added Martyniuk.
