Over the weekend, at least 40 people were killed in Eastern Ethiopia in an attack by paramilitary forces from the Somali region.
“We still do not know why these forces raided areas on Saturday and Sunday. But we know that all the victims were citizens of Ethiopia”, – said the representative of the regional administration.
Eyewitnesses said that during the attack of a man beaten to death by mob for allegedly spread rumors he had a bomb.
“The police took no action while it was happening. This is an example of the lawlessness that is taking root in the country,” said the locals.
