Gerashchenko told how this document will help Ukraine against Russia.
Definition of Russia in the bill on the reintegration of Donbass as the aggressor country will not allow the peacekeepers of the Russian Federation in the ATO area. This was stated by first Vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Gerashchenko.
She noted that the document was very important in terms of the negotiations on the UN peacekeepers in the Donbas.
“There (the bill – Ed.) you have clearly determined the status of the temporarily occupied territories and of the country-aggressor, which occupied it, – the Russian Federation. This short story is very important in the context of our diplomatic negotiations on a possible peacekeeping mission. It is obvious that the aggressor country can not be a peacemaker, may not give representatives in the peacekeeping mission. That is why Ukraine insists that a possible mission may not be representatives of the Russian Federation”, – said Gerashchenko.
She noted that the bill will be item, which will not give chance to lift Russia sanctions and the conditions will be created to strengthen the Ukrainian army.
“It will focus on political and diplomatic solution to the conflict, but will create all conditions in order to strengthen the Ukrainian army and, in fact, will be incorporated and terminology, which will harmonize Ukrainian legislation, international legislation with the real situation, which is now in the Donbas,” – said the politician.
As reported in the media, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko may introduce a bill on the reintegration of Donbass in Parliament today, 4 October.
As previously said the President’s representative in Parliament Iryna Lutsenko, thanks to bill Ukraine is ready to recognize Russia as an aggressor country.
