A preliminary conclusion is counted by the court in the sentence day for day.
June 21, entered into force a law that abolishes the possibility of recalculating the sentence by “law Savchenko” (admission 1 day prior conclusions as 2 days in term the basic punishment).
The law was published in the official newspaper of the Verkhovna Rada “Voice of Ukraine” on 20 June. It shall enter into force the day after publication.
The document stipulates that one day of preliminary arrest is equal now to one day of imprisonment, instead of two, as in the “law Savchenko”. Thus, in case of conviction to imprisonment, pre-trial detention is simply subtracted from the total sentence.
Recall, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the “law Savchenko” 26, 2015 canceled – may 18, 2017.
