The highest instance Court of the European Union at the end of the trial, decided on blocking the largest torrent tracker The Pirate Bay due to the fact that it violates the copyright law because of pirated content.
“The provision and management of an online platform for the exchange of copyrighted works may constitute copyright infringement,” reads the court’s decision.
The publication reports that the trial is the result of hard work, the Dutch Association Stichting Brein, which pursues The Pirate Bay since 2009.
It is assumed that all the Internet providers in Europe may be required to block access to torrent tracker.
