Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) announced the development of a supercomputer called Spacebourne Apollo Computer, which will be sent to the International space station (ISS).
Novelty refers to the class systems with the HP Apollo 40 (includes server, storage and network equipment, like Hyper-converged solutions), based on special versions of Linux OS and has a capacity of 1 teraflops.

14 August 2017 on-Board computer of the spacecraft company SpaceX was sent to the ISS, where it will be tested during the year.
Spaceborne Computer will register the hardware and software failures to identify parts and components that are most vulnerable to radiation or degrade under prolonged exposure to it. The equipment received a lot of specialized fuse, actuation of which leads to a stop of the operating system or lowering the clock frequency of the processor. All of these measures, in turn, will allow to avoid damages and to save on scarce space station energy.
