The increase in gas production is expected to 25-27 billion cubic meters per year.

The largest in the last 30 years, the gas field discovered near the village of karajala the County of Buzau in Romania.

This was stated by Prime Minister of Romania Sorin Grindeanu, reports the correspondent of UKRINFORM.

“Thanks discovered the largest gas field, production will increase to 25-27 billion cubic meters per year, which will ensure energy independence of Romania for the next 2-3 years,” said Grindeanu.

According to him, gas production in this region of the country will enable Romania to become an important energy player in southeastern Europe.

According to official data, in 2017 the total volume of investments aimed at the development of the field in this region will exceed 40 million Euro.
