Russia does not want to enter the new sanctions standoff with the West. This was stated press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov.
In the U.S. Senate agreed on tougher sanctions against Russia, which should be a response to the alleged Moscow’s intervention in U.S. elections, and its activity in the middle East. The vote will take place in the Senate on 15 June.
“With specific regard to the next sanctions aspirations of our colleagues, we do not want to get back into it the peak of sanctions,” – said Peskov, noting that it was not Russia’s choice.
Note that the Russian authorities have repeatedly said that sanctions are absolutely useless as they do not could have a negative impact on the economy and life in Russia.
