The Kremlin is categorically against observers on the border of Ukraine and Russia

The interests of Donbass residents is paramount, said Peskov.

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov fears that the deployment of observers on the border of Russia with Ukraine may follow the Ukrainian troops and groups of extremists.

“It is clear that observers can follow the armed forces of Ukraine, can be followed not only they, but also groups of extremists, well known for his inhuman actions, and here nobody is insured from the start of the next tragic event,” — said Peskov.

According to him, the independent control on the border could save Russia from accusations that she is the aggressor, but the interests of the residents of Donbass more than this.

“Yes, but it does not save the inhabitants of Donbass from the deadly threat that much more important,” — said Peskov.

We will remind, Russia has prepared for the UN security Council a resolution proposal to send peacekeepers to the Donbas to protect the OSCE observers.

Later it became known that Ukraine will offer its own version of the initiative on the introduction of the UN peacekeeping mission in the Donbass after consultation with the partner countries.

At the same time, the state Duma has opposed the deployment of peacekeepers on the border of Russia and Ukraine.
