The Kremlin believes the fall in oil prices disaster for Russia, since the country has accumulated sufficient financial safety cushion. The journalists said the press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, reports RIA Novosti.
He stressed that Russia and Saudi Arabia there is a price war, and asked not to believe the reports about the possible introduction of sanctions by the USA because of the situation on the oil market. “This rather belongs to the category of, say, a spring exacerbation provoked by a coronavirus, suffering Russophobia”, — commented the representative of the Kremlin information of the American media.
Commenting on the co-owner of “LUKOIL” Leonid Fedun that the precipitous fall in oil prices will hit hardest in Russia, Peskov pointed out that in the short to medium term, nothing bad will happen.
Also, the press Secretary of the President recalled that the declining trend in world consumption appeared to pandemic coronavirus, and many American companies, extracting shale oil, are in distress.
Yesterday, 19 March, Fedun said that the biggest winners of a price war between Russia and Saudi Arabia, which began after the failure of negotiations on the limitation of production, will become the United States. He expressed confidence that the Russian authorities could not “in a nightmare” to present such low prices.
On the same day the head of the White house Donald trump has promised to intervene if oil prices remain at low levels. Sources in the presidential administration indicate that Saudi Arabia, the United States wants to negotiate in a diplomatic way, and Russia — to threaten sanctions. Against this background, the oil price has moved to growth. As of 13:15 Moscow time a barrel of standard grade Brent gained 6.81 percent to 30,41 dollar.
