At yesterday’s meeting, the city Council decided on the mandatory existence of menus in the Ukrainian language in all public catering establishments of the capital.
The solution will be named “About the security measures to ensure regional language policy in the city of Kiev”.
The deputies agreed on the amendments to the draft “On overcoming the consequences of Soviet occupation in the language area” and supported the document as a whole. The project of the Kyiv city Council supported the basis for more April 20.
According to the decision, the language of work, record keeping and documentation of all local authorities, enterprises, institutions, as well as the language of official announcements is the official language.
In this case, after amendments in more detail written out a paragraph about the use of the Ukrainian language in the public service. However, at the request of the consumer, the enterprise may use any other language to fully deliver information on products and services.
“With the visitor services staff is committed to offer a menu of Ukrainian, and only at the request of the visitor, to provide a menu in any other language subject to availability”, – said the author of the decision, the city Council member Yuri Sirotyuk.
Recall that the Kyiv city Council decided that in all areas of service is used only Ukrainian language. For the adoption of the draft decision as a whole 80 deputies voted for the minimum required 61.
