The Kennedy assassination: what the declassified US government

The national archives unveiled nearly three thousand previously classified documents about the murder of the 35th President John Kennedy.

With the consent of the President of Donald trump national archives declassified almost 3 thousand documents from the case about the murder of President John Kennedy in 1963.

The most notorious murder of the 20th century
John F. Kennedy, the 35th U.S. President was shot in Dallas November 22, 1963 while riding in a convertible with his wife Jacqueline and Texas Governor John Connally. The shots, according to the official version, produced by former marine Lee Harvey Oswald who was killed two days after the incident.

A week after Kennedy came President Lyndon Johnson established a Commission of inquiry, headed by Supreme court chief justice Earl Warren. In his report, published in 1964, claimed that Kennedy was shot from the sixth floor window, located at the Southeast corner of the building, Texas school book Depository. In this case was not provided with evidence that Oswald was involved in any domestic or international conspiracy against Kennedy.

In the course of investigations conducted by other governmental commissions, was never found evidence of the involvement of the CIA or other intelligence agencies to the assassination. In 1979 established three years earlier a Committee of the house of representatives of the United States for political killings in General supported the conclusions of the Warren Commission, but drew attention to the fact that “there is a high probability that President Kennedy was shot two”.

The official version
A week after the murder of incumbent President Lyndon Johnson created a Commission to investigate, headed by chief justice Earl Warren.

In the report of the Warren Commission published in 1964, States the following:

JFK was shot from the sixth floor window, located at the Southeast corner of the building, Texas school book Depository
Shot Lee Harvey Oswald
No evidence that Lee Harvey Oswald or Jack ruby “was involved in any domestic or international conspiracy” is not found.

There were other investigations:

In 1968 a Commission of three doctors “supported the medical conclusions of the Warren Commission”
In 1975, the Rockefeller Commission engaged in the investigation of the CIA domestically and abroad, “found no evidence of CIA involvement” to the Kennedy assassination
In 1979 established three years earlier a Committee of the house of representatives of the United States for political killings in General supported the conclusions of the Commission of Warren, but noted that “there is a high probability that President Kennedy was shot two”.
In 1992, the U.S. Congress passed a law in which all the materials of cases on political killings – about five million pages – was transferred to the national archives.

Today, about 88% of these documents are open to the public, and 11% partially, of them blacked out sensitive information. About 1% of the documents fully classified.

In accordance with the 1992 act, if there is no objection from the President, all documents must be fully disclosed in the course of 25 years.

Trump has declassified documents about the murder, though not all
The validity of the secrecy of most of the materials about the Kennedy assassination ended in 1990-ies, however, the U.S. Congress passed a law that extended the term for another 25 years. Now most of the files on the orders of President trump, was promulgated with the aim to dispel conspiracy theories surrounding the events of 1963.

The white house released 2891 the document investigation about the murder of the 35th U.S. President John F. Kennedy, which until that time were in the archives classified as “Secret”.

“State archive released the documents that had previously been closed in accordance with the Law on collecting materials about the assassination of John F. Kennedy. The vast majority of files (88%) was revealed and released in the 1990-ies,” – said in the accompanying message.

What was hidden in the documents
Disclosed now materials contain records about the preparation and implementation of the murder. However, it is noted that this time not all documents were declassified under the heading there are about 300 files for reasons of national security.

From the records, as expected, describes previously unknown details, but they indicate something new, but only complement the known picture. So, in one of the documents reported that less than two months before the Kennedy assassination, the CIA intercepted a telephone conversation with Lee Harvey Oswald (killer of President) with a KGB officer, who was in the Russian Embassy in Mexico city. It is noted that Oswald talked to him in “broken Russian”.

In other files called Oswald the “Communist agent who worked with (Fidel — ed.) Castro.” With it, a bit of information about his activity began to enter the American law enforcement authorities a few months before the assassination of the President of the United States.
