The ISS can be traces of extraterrestrial life

These data were obtained in the course of the years of the space experiment “Test”.

Experts have found that the surface of the International space station (ISS) can be a temporary guardian of the biomaterial of extraterrestrial origin.

These data were obtained in the course of the years of the space experiment “Test”, reported on the website of the Corporation Roscosmos.

During the experiment, since 2010, the astronauts collected 19 samples of dust from the surface of the ISS. Falls to the surface of the ISS micrometeorites and cometary dust can contain biogenic substance of extraterrestrial origin in their natural form. Therefore, the surface of the ISS is a unique, easily accessible by the collector and custodian of the cometary material, and perhaps material of extraterrestrial origin.

Experts note that on the surface of the station finding terrestrial microorganisms remaining after Assembly and launch modules into orbit. To determine the origin of the microorganisms on the surface of the station and find out they got on the station during the Assembly of structural elements on the Ground or from space, will take considerable time.

A symptom that allows to distinguish between terrestrial micro-organism from space is the isotope of carbon 13C, which almost none of the terrestrial samples. If the sample from the surface of the ISS has more than half of the 13C, it can be argued that the substance formed outside of the Earth.

However, the task isotopic analysis difficult, as samples of the substance of the comet falling to the surface of the ISS, is small and the use of standard methods does not give quick results.
