In 2014 a measure of the “reliability” of the Ukrainian police has increased almost twice.
Reliability rating of Ukrainian police has grown significantly in 2014. As the press service of the interior Ministry, these data are reported in the annual report on the level of economic freedom in 159 countries around the world, which the Fraser Institute (Canada) announced in late September.
The rating noted that Ukraine has shown a lot of progress in terms of “reliability of police”.
The rating is made taking into account five key components: the economy’s dependence on government, the legal system and protection of property, access to Finance, freedom of trade internationally and regulation of credit, labor and business.
“Almost the only component where Ukraine has shown real progress is the “reliability of police” (included in the indicator of “legal system and protection of property”). The index of Ukraine in this component are made up 4.21 points. For comparison, in 2014, it was 2.75 points,” – the document says.
The interior Ministry said that the growth index of Ukraine for the component “reliability of police” is the result of the reform of the Ministry of internal Affairs and the creation of the National police of Ukraine, “which contributed to a significant increase of trust of citizens to law enforcement agencies.”
