The IMF told us what issues will decide the Fund’s mission in Kiev
A group of IMF experts who are going next week to visit Kiev, is not an evaluation mission in the framework of the next revision eff EFF for Ukraine.
The representatives of the Foundation will focus on discussion of technical issues, responded to a request for information from the Agenda at the International monetary Fund.
“Jost Longman (IMF resident representative in Ukraine – ed.) really made a statement that a small team of IMF staff will visit Kyiv on 12-16 February,” confirmed the Fund.
At the same time, it was emphasized that the IMF experts have been seconded “for technical discussions with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities.”
As noted in the IMF, “it is not an evaluation mission in the framework of the revision of the IMF program – ed.); date to (send – ed.), the evaluation mission has not yet been established.”
In March 2015, the IMF approved a lending program of Ukraine’s economy with the introduction of the extended financing facility (EFF) totaling $17.5 billion for a period of four years. The first tranche of $5 billion, Ukraine received in March 2015, the second ($1.7 billion) in August 2015, and the third ($1 billion) in September 2016, the fourth ($1 billion) in April 2017. It is expected that the fifth and sixth tranches Ukraine will receive during the current year, if they fulfill all the conditions of the program.
