In their work, the economists analyzed the period from 1991 to 2015, and showed how varied this figure annually.
For example, since 1991, when the shadow economy of Ukraine was estimated at 38,96% of GDP, the rate continuously grew until 1998, reaching a peak of 57%.
The downward trend was observed until 2008, the figure dropped to 36,65%.
