The heating season in Kiev: when the batteries will become warm

To start the heat you need up to 10 days.

In Kiev heating in residential buildings will be connected gradually and solely on the technological schedule.

This was announced by Deputy head of Kyiv city state administration Petr Panteleyev, reports the press service of the KSCA.

“Connecting housing starts once the average daily temperature for three days will be below +8 degrees. At the start of the heating period it is necessary to observe the established technology roadmap,” said Panteleev.

He stressed that Kiev is one of the largest district heating systems in Europe.

“To run the coolant over 2.6 thousand km of heating networks, over 11,000 apartment buildings need up to 10 days,” – said Deputy KSCA.

According to him, in 2016, some officials tried to start the heating season in 2-3 days and this has led to an increase in the number of hydraulic shock and damage of thermal networks.

Panteleev has specified that in connection with this, Kiev will gradually enter the heating season.
