The health Ministry said, as you increase doctors ‘ salaries

The health Ministry promised that Ukraine will have enough family doctors to run medical reform.

Currently in Ukraine there are 25 thousand family doctors, and medical universities annually produce five thousand young professionals, said in comments ZN.UA the Minister of health Suprun.

She also noted that the amount of UAH 210, which will “walk” the patient after the start of the reform of the primary level medical care was provided in 2016, when the budget was formed in 2017, and now revised upwards.

“210 UAH were provided in 2016, when the budget was formed-2017. For a basis took the budget for a primary — 20% of the total. Now there are more accurate calculations, it is not 210 UAH, and more. If the doctor will operate as a sole proprietorship, these funds will come to his account. And if you stay at the center for primary care — the money going to the center. And the doctor will continue to provide funding for every patient, with whom he signed a contract,” she said.

According to Suprun, after the launch of the reform the salary of doctors working at the primary level will grow by almost six times.

At the same time, scientific consultant of the Institute of social and economic research, candidate of economic Sciences Igor Yakovenko in the comments ZN.UA expressed the opinion that Ukraine may face a severe shortage of family doctors.

“If the population of Ukraine, which, according to the Committee, is 42 million 603 thousand citizens, divided by this standard, the demand will be almost 18 thousand family physicians. And according to data for 2011, we had 8140. Since that time, is unlikely to significantly increased this figure, but rather the opposite, because doctors are one of the largest groups of employment-based immigration. Obviously, a significant part of the population of Ukraine and will not be able to find a family doctor,” said he.
