The group accused the winner of Eurovision plagiarism. Video

Group threatens to sue.

The world famous recording company Universal Music has been accused of plagiarism by the authors of the songs Toy with which the Israeli singer Netta Barzilai won this year on the Eurovision song contest, held in Lisbon.

The authors of the hit appear Doron Medals and Becoming, Beger. Beger, is also the producer of Netty.

On Tuesday, July 3, Universal Music sent him a warning about his intention to file a lawsuit in court. The company believes that the rhythm and harmony of the Toy is very similar to the song Seven Nation Army by the American rock band The White Stripes.

As you know, by the rules of “Eurovision” in the competition can participate only original songs — no remixes, no covers, no arrangements.

If a lawsuit would indeed be filed (and this, no doubt), and if the court recognizes the rightness of Universal Music, the net can deny the title of the winner. This means that the organizers of “Eurovision” will have to find another country to contest in 2019.
