Princess Mako announced their engagement with a classmate.
The Imperial court of Japan officially announced his engagement to the granddaughter of Emperor Akihito, Princess Mako, her classmate Kay Komuro.
The upcoming marriage was approved by the Imperial couple at a special ceremony. On Sunday, Princess Mako and her partner will hold a press conference. In the evening Komuro along with his mother will arrive at a gala dinner at the residence of Prince Akishino.
Before marriage Princess Mako and Kay Komura will hold the traditional exchange of gifts, then the groom’s family will give the bride’s family their proposals for the date of the wedding.
According to NHK, considering the formalities and Mako belonging to the Imperial family, the wedding will likely take place next year.
