In the case already questioned more than 100 people
The Prosecutor General’s office of Ukraine sent to court indictments against five former and incumbent officials of the Ministry of defence, which bought helmets and body armor for the APU at inflated prices.
In spite of the legislation under which the purchase of helmets and body armor for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is exempted from taxation figurati business has signed a number of agreements on the purchase of special equipment for the price including VAT, which caused the state damage of more than $ 34 million.
“On the basis of their signed payment orders of the Ministry of defence during the 2014-2015 illegally paid into the account of the supplier in the total 32.6 million hryvnia in the form of value added tax. In addition, supplementary agreements to separate such contracts were arbitrarily increased the price of put helmets and body armor, which led to unnecessary costs to the Ministry for a total sum more than 1,5 million hryvnias”, – is spoken in the message.
In the case already questioned more than 100 people, seized more than 3 million documents, spent nearly 30 audits and complex forensic examinations.
Defendants in the case announced on suspicion of committing crimes under part 2 St. 367 (negligence) and part 2 of article 425 (negligent attitude to military service) of the Criminal code of Ukraine. In particular, the suspicion was reported to the participant and the Director and chief accountant of the supplier, who appropriated the funds of the Ministry of defense in the amount of 34.1 million.
Indictments in the case sent to court, and the property of the suspects was arrested.
