The Prosecutor General’s office expects the termination of the output of the daily newspaper “Vesti” from Friday, July 14. This was at the briefing said the Deputy Prosecutor General – chief military Prosecutor Anatoly Matios.
According to him, financing of the media holding News is from funds received for the provision of one thousand rail cars.
“I hope that today a thousand cars, which cost approximately $40 million, will no longer generate income for free distribution such a good newspaper like other fake sites,” – said Matios.
He confirmed that the searches are taking place in the editorial office, but stressed that journalists themselves holding are not searched and are not involved in criminal proceedings.
Matios and the Minister of internal Affairs Arsen Avakov claim that the possible termination of the activities of the media holding “Vesti” is not associated with any journalistic materials, but only with the non-transparent procedure of financing.
