The Governor of the Novgorod region Sergey Mitin has resigned.
Mitin will not participate in the election of a new Governor in the fall of 2017. He noted that he already asked the President of Russia Vladimir Putin about the new job.
The Governor of the Novgorod region was the third Governor who resigned since the beginning of February 2017. Earlier posts have left the head of the Perm region Viktor Basargin and the head of Buryatia Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn. According to “Rain” and “Sheets” in the near future in resignation can leave Alexander Khudilainen (Karelia), Oleg Kovalev (Ryazan oblast), Yevgeny Kuyvashev (Sverdlovsk region) and Pavel Konkov (Ivanovo region).
