The General Director of Milan Marco Fassone officially announced that 18-year-old pupil Gianluigi Donnarumma has refused to sign a new contract with the club.
18-year-old Donnarumma is the most promising goalkeeper in the world – graduate of Milan early in his career earned comparisons with themselves Gianluigi Buffon. Milan pinned on the goalkeeper great hopes, but now it became known that the young player will soon be leaving his home club. The decision of Donnarumma was greatly influenced by the famous agent Mino Rayol.
“We made a strong offer. The player appreciated it and made its findings which were related not only to the economic component, but also under the influence of personal and team perspectives.
He later told us he did not want to renew the contract, and this means that his time with AC Milan will end on 30 June 2018. We were caught off guard because we had hoped that Donnarumma will be the goalkeeper “Milan” for a long time”, – quotes the words of Fassone official site “Milan”.
Milan offered Donnarumma a five-year contract with a salary of 4.5 million euros and bonuses for success. However, the goalkeeper refused the generous offer.
Now Milan have only two ways – either to show integrity and keep Donnarumma to the end of the contract, either before the closure of the summer transfer window to sell the goalkeeper in order not to lose him for free.
Gianluigi Donnarumma has offers from real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. The goalkeeper of the Italian national team, prefers to pursue a career in the Spanish Grand.
