In Bakhchisarai detained eight Ukrainian citizens of Crimean Tatar origin.
In Ukraine are outraged by the constant build-up of Russian occupying authorities on the practice of political repression and persecution against ethnic communities, in particular the Crimean Tatars.
This is stated in a Russian foreign Ministry comment in connection with another illegal detention of citizens of Ukraine in the occupied Crimea.
“We consider such actions as elements of strengthening of the policy of intimidation that the Russian occupation authorities consistently pursued with the aim of destroying dissent and opposition to the illegal occupation. The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine expresses its decisive protest in connection with another facts of human rights violations and demands from the Russian side to immediately release the detainees. Encourage international partners to increase pressure on the Russian Federation to end political persecution and other human rights violations in the occupied Crimea”, – said in comments.
It is noted that on 13 April 2017 in Bakhchisarai representatives of the repressive authorities on spurious grounds detained eight Ukrainian citizens of Crimean Tatar origin, including the use of force.
Two Ukrainian citizens – Sadamoto Mustafayev and Midto Murzabaeva whose homes was searched, charged with article 20.3 of the code of administrative offences (Cao) of the Russian Federation (propaganda or public demonstration of attributes or symbols of extremist organizations). Six citizens who witnessed illegal searches, accused under article 20.2 of the administrative code (violation of established order of organization or holding of assemblies, rallies, demonstrations, marches or picketing).
