President Vladimir Zelensky should protect Ukraine at the upcoming summit in “channel format”. This was stated by the first head of state Leonid Kravchuk in the air of TV channel “112”.
According to Kravchuk, Ukraine “cheated” with the Budapest Memorandum of 1994, which was an international agreement on security assurances in connection with the annexation of Kiev to the Treaty on the nonproliferation of nuclear weapons.
The former President also rebuked some allies of Ukraine that they help her only. The participants of the forthcoming summit will have to talk about the interests of the “great Ukrainian people.”
“I would advise so: to defend Ukraine. It’s not just words. For example, I want to say there openly and sincerely the truth — we are deceived with the Budapest Memorandum. Deceiving us and pretending to help, when help only. Playing with us like a cat with a mouse,” he said.
Kravchuk advised Zelensky to show courage, will and boldness to declare the interests of the country during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Recall, the leaders of Ukraine and Russia, as well as the President of France Emmanuel macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel will meet in Paris on 9 December to discuss a settlement in the Donbass.
