If ordinary passengers could only rely on mineral water and a book, in the “first class” intended for wealthy foreigners, offered black caviar with vodka.
We gathered up 13 photos from the sides of various Soviet aircraft, allowing you to imagine how traveling in the Soviet Union.
The ideology of the Soviet Union meant that there are no rich or poor — all are equal. So when it came to the Soviet transportation, no such categories as “first class” “business class” and so on. The only exception was the company “Aeroflot”. The fact that air travel is accomplished not only within the Union but also worldwide, and therefore, the airline had to accept Western standards. So in the 1950s there appeared a service for rich tourists.
But sometimes liners “Aeroflot” designed for international flights, and was used for domestic flights, and then in the luxurious first class were the most ordinary Soviet citizens.
