Long-suffering adaptation of the iconic manga and anime “Akira”, initiated long ago, has found a new candidate for the post of Director. It was the new Zealander Secretly, Waititi, the person who had previously been commissioned to animate a series of kinokontrol about marvelo-Scandinavian God of thunder, and he withdrew the acid-bright blockbuster “Thor: Ragnarok”. The quality of the picture is still too early to judge, but the trailers look really juicy.
Returning to “Akira”, recall, Warner Bros. been trying to find a Director for this unfinished, but so far without success. At different times in the Director’s chair tried to put the Creator of “House of wax” Jaume will Colet-Sulfur, the author of the hit Thriller “Away” Jordan Saw and other famous guys. If we can persuade Waititi? Still unknown, but negotiations are ongoing.
If everything finally works out, Warner Bros. plans to divide the six volumes of the original manga in two feature films.
The story will develop after the Third world war in a bleak futuristic new Manhattan where a leader of a biker gang tries to save his friend from participating in terrible medical experiment.
