In the UK at the airport of Newquay, the first test of supersonic car Bloodhound Supersonic Car (Bloodhound SSC), equipped with a jet engine from a Eurofighter Typhoon. Bloodhound SSC has tested on October 26 in the presence of about three thousand spectators.
The car during testing, accelerated to speeds exceeding 300 km/h, in line with forecasts creators. Up to this speed, Bloodhound SSC was dispersed in 9 seconds.
In tests the Bloodhound had committed two of arrival (on runway length 2.7 km). I drove the car pilot Andy green, who in 1997 drove Thrust SSC car to a record of 1228 km/h.
In the future, the engineers want to set a land speed record car, accelerating the car up to 1000 mph (1609 km/h).
The project on the development of Bloodhound SSC was proposed almost 10 years ago.
