The famous footballer is elected President of Liberia

Famous former footballer George Weah elected President of his country.

The election, held on Tuesday, 51-year-old Weah has defeated its main rival, the incumbent Vice-President Joseph Bokaya. As President of VEA will replace the Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.

Note that in 2005, Weah has already ran for President of Liberia, but in the second round he lost to Johnson-Sirleaf, who became the first ever African female President.

During his career Weah played for Monaco, PSG, Marseille, Milan, Chelsea and Manchester city. He is a double champion of Italy, champion of France, three-time winner of the Cup.

In 1995 Weah won the Golden ball and was named player of the year by the International football Federation (FIFA).
