First Irish Gothic horror “Tenants” we discussed in may this year. Then, in our hands we got the first footage from the film, and they looked pretty cool. Immediately felt cold authentic medieval atmosphere, and the good shot “Tenants” in this haunted castle, which, by the way, this year turned exactly 666 years.
However, the picture of Brian O’malley (“Let’s go hunting”) is not only interesting locations can boast here and the plot is excellent:
Ireland, 1920. Brother and sister Edward and Rachel live in the incoming to the decline of the estate left behind by their deceased parents. Bound by a secret curse, the characters never leave the house. Some of the ghostly Residents that appear only at night, require them to strictly abide by three rules. The first is that they must be in bed by midnight. The second is that they cannot allow outsiders to cross the threshold. Third — if someone tries to run the life of another would be endangered.
When a war veteran Sean returns to the village next door, his attention is attracted by the mysterious Rachel, who decided to break the rules set by the Tenants. The consequences will force Rachel to join in deadly struggle with his brother and the curse that haunts them.
The trailer confirms that the movie is very atmospheric, dark, eerie. In addition, the actors play bad. Starring here Charlotte VEGA (the”Other me”), bill Milner (“X-Men: First class”) and Eugene Simon (“Game of thrones”). And there is David Bradley (“Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone”), which further adds karma points of the film. But the script was written by newcomer David Turpin.
“Tenants” will be presented this week in the framework of the film festival in Toronto, so we will follow the reviews from there and also wait for information about rental. The benefit of the distributor in the picture is already there.
