The export of Ukrainian goods to the European Union increased by 29% in the first three quarters of the current year (January-September).
This was reported in the EU mission in Ukraine.
“Visa-free travel increase the benefits of a free trade zone between the EU and Ukraine. They contributed to the increase in exports from Ukraine to the EU by 29% during the first nine months 2017 in comparison with the similar period of 2016”, – stated in the message.
Recall that the Association agreement between Ukraine and the European Union entered into force on 1 September. And from 1 January 2016 applies to pre-trade part of the agreement (deep and comprehensive free trade area).
In 2016 compared to 2015 year, Ukraine increased the share of exports to the EU by 3.7% to 37.1% ($13.5 billion) and imports from the EU by 11.8% to 43.7% ($17.1 billion).
Thus, in January-June 2017 the export of Ukrainian goods to the EU increased by 25%.
