In January, gasoline will cost an average of 30 UAH.
In 2018, oil prices broke the record for 3.5 years. In September, a barrel cost $81,53. Then the price gradually began to decline. Next year also we can expect similar price jumps, said analyst firm Maxim Parkhomenko.
“Most likely next year the global economy may slowdown. This will cause a reduction in demand for energy, including oil. The decrease in oil production within OPEC decision will allow to keep prices at current levels or grow more – up to $65 per barrel. Prices will depend on supply and demand affected China’s economy and proposals from the manufacturers,” – said the analyst.
Sanctions against Iran, trade war led to a rise in fuel prices this year.
“In 2019 is expected to increase gasoline prices even if oil prices remain at current positions. The growth rate of the Euro in world markets will lead to an increase in excise tax on fuel,” says Parkhomenko.
The cost of gasoline in Ukraine is based on three factors: the cost of oil on world markets, excise tax in the Euro, the hryvnia.
“If we take the current conditions, namely oil, it cost less now than in the beginning of the year. The Euro also fell. Now the gasoline on the Ukrainian filling stations should cost less 29 hryvnia per liter. In January the average price of gasoline will be 30 UAH per liter of autogas – 14 hryvnia, diesel fuel 28,50”, – said Maxim Parkhomenko.
For the last 1.5 months OKKO and WOG reduced the price of gasoline at UAH 4/liter, and diesel fuel – by 2.5 UAH/liter.
