European company ArianeGroup considering to the year 2025 to send to the moon a scientific mission.
The Paris company said Monday that it has signed a one-year contract with the European space Agency to study the possibility of drafting a mission with the purpose of production of regolith.
Of its decision, the company announced over fifty years after Neil Armstrong stepped on the surface of the satellite.
The company says that “the regolith is the ore from which to extract water and oxygen, allows to make possible an independent presence on the moon, the ability to produce the fuel necessary for more distant exploration missions.”
While ArianeGroup argues that the potential mission would not include sending people to the moon.
