The European Commission allocates three million euros.
The European Commission on behalf of the European Union will Finance the Special monitoring mission of OSCE in Ukraine three million euros in the field of satellite imagery. This was stated by the representative of the Union for foreign Affairs and security policy Federica Mogherini, said in a press-service of representation of the Union in Ukraine.
“Use of satellite image data will allow a more in-depth monitoring of the situation in areas to which, unfortunately, observers still do not have access. They will also contribute to the more effective deployment of observers as a whole”, – said Mogherini.
According to her, using satellite reconnaissance to obtain information on infrastructural damage and the presence or movement of manpower and equipment. Funding will be distributed through the Satellite centre of the European Union. The center will track the desired images and, at the request of the OSCE mission to provide the test results.
We will note, recently the special OSCE monitoring mission in Ukraine received a thermal imaging camera from the German government.
