Mogherini doubted the power of Russia.
The Russian Federation today can hardly be called a superpower.
This was in the context of the world economic forum on the Middle East and North Africa in Jordan, said the Supreme representative of the European Union for foreign Affairs and security policy Federica Mogherini.
“If you look at the state of the Russian economy today, it is difficult to call it a superpower,” said Mogherini.
She stressed that today the GDP per capita in Russia is lower than in most EU countries individually.
“Russia invests heavily in the defense and military activities, but when it comes to economic power, then forget all about it”, she added.
