EU abolished import duties for three years.
The European Union has set a zero import duty for Ukrainian companies that produce shoes.
This was announced by Deputy Minister of economic development and trade Natalia Mykolskiy.
“We received a reduction of duties to zero for the industrial products, shoes, where previously the average fee was more than 10-14%. Ukrainian shoes are quite competitive … and light industry shows a medium to high growth rates. Of course, a significant part of we now sew on the order of foreign brands,” she said.
However, Nicholas said that more and more Ukrainian companies “start to sew what is called private lable”.
“We give the order for the goods, and the Ukrainian company buys raw materials, accessories, sew on the territory of Ukraine and further supplies to the EU market,” she said.
