Reduction of quotas can touch of honey, wheat, corn, tomatoes and urea.
Ukraine can provide trade preferences, under which quotas for tomatoes, wheat, corn, and honey will be reduced, urea proposals would be excluded.
About this result of tripartite talks held on Tuesday in the late evening in Strasbourg.
“After heated discussions failed to reach a compromise, which was accepted by all three institutions (the European Parliament, the European Commission and the Maltese chairmanship). It provides for the granting Ukraine of preferences for all agricultural products proposed by the European Commission, and five of them have been partially restored, and from the industrial complex of urea removed”, – stated in the message.
In particular, established the following annual quotas: for honey – 2500 tons of tomatoes processed 3,000 tons of wheat, 65,000 tons of corn – 625 000 tons, barley – 325 000 tons.
“These reductions are a response to the sensitivity of some member States in the agricultural sector”, – stated in the message.
In addition, the goods which are exported from the territories seized by separatists, will be subject to additional checks.
Preferences will be entered for the term up to three years, as a Supplement to the Agreement on deep and comprehensive free trade area.
