Moscow. 27 Feb. INTERFAX.RU the dollar during trading on the Moscow exchange on Thursday night significantly increased and reached 66 rubles for the first time since 6 September 2019 against the backdrop of falling global markets due to the situation with the “Wuhan” coronavirus and oil.
According to 16:53 Moscow time the dollar rose against the ruble to 66 rubles/$1, which is 53 kopecks above the closing level of Wednesday, 26 February. The Euro thus reached 72,385 RUB/€1 (+1.11 ruble to the previous closing). The cost of the currency basket ($0.55 and EUR0,45) rose 79 cents to the closing level on February 26, rising to 68,87 of the ruble.
According to experts of “Interfax-CEA”, the ruble continues to decline against the dollar and Euro for a third consecutive day along with most of the currencies of emerging markets falling on fears about the spread of mers outside of China, and also due to the continuing fall in oil prices.
