Surgeons performed a unique operation by removing almost 1.5 kg of nails from the stomach of the patient.
The doctors of the medical College of Calcutta was removed from the stomach of Indian 639 nail with a length of about 5 centimeters, whose weight was 1.3 kg. The man was taken to the hospital with complaints of vomiting and stomach pain.
After the endoscopy revealed that the patient’s intestines filled with nails. During the two-hour operation, surgeons made a 10-inch incision in the abdomen and with a magnet got the foreign metal objects, along with pieces of land. Doctors say that despite the sharpness of the nails, internal organs of the patient has not received serious damages.
The man suffers from schizophrenia and regularly ingests non-edible items. Now he is undergoing rehabilitation under the supervision of doctors
