Named products that reduce the risk of cancer.
French scientists have stated that eating organic foods significantly reduces the risk of certain types of cancer.
These are the findings of recent epidemiological studies.
In the study, which took place from 2009 to 2016, participated 68946.
Depending on the volume of consumption of organic products, scientists have divided people into different groups. Take into account the availability in the diet of 16 organic (i.e. grown without the use of pesticides, growth regulators, antibiotics, and other such substances), including fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, ready meals, vegetable fat, flavourings and food additives. Monitoring volunteers on average lasted 4.5 years.
During that time scientists recorded 1,340 cases of cancer. Most of these were breast cancer (459 cases). Further, the frequency of diagnosis was prostate cancer (180 cases), skin (135 cases), colorectal carcinoma (99 cases) and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (47 cases).
It turned out that people ate more organic, 25% less likely to have faced cancer. In particular, the risk of developing non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and breast cancer was reduced by 73% and 21% respectively.
According to the authors of the study, this result may be related to the fact that the body of people who use a lot of organic products contain less residues of pesticides and medicines used in agriculture.
