It turns out that vaccination is able to prevent the emergence of complications.
To reduce the risk of complications from influenza only vaccination, and vaccination must be done not later than 2-3 weeks prior to the beginning of the epidemic.

To traditional winter deterioration of the epidemiological situation in Ukraine is still far away, however, many Ukrainians have already have had the flu and SARS. This season, the doctors predict a circulation of three strains of influenza, and the increase in the number of cases is expected in a few weeks. Thus, according to the experts, much will depend on the weather and the number of vaccinated citizens.
“This year is expected the arrival in Ukraine of a virus strain H3N2 “Hong Kong”, with which the population has faced in the past year. But do not assume that last year’s vaccination will protect you from him – because the viruses are constantly mutating and, most likely, last year’s vaccination will not save. I must also add that this virus is most dangerous for the elderly, asthma patients and Allergy sufferers. It is desirable vaccination, and already in October, because the body needs some time on the production of antibodies,” said the doctor.
Vaccination is also indicated for patients with chronic illnesses, like weakening of the body creates additional risks of complications.
“Vaccination reduces the risk of death from the flu and developing complications of the virus. Besides, vaccination is the only way to restrain the growth of morbidity, especially in children’s groups. Indeed, in schools, kindergartens and other schools, the flu virus spread like lightning,” – said the expert.
Recall that in the epidemic season of influenza and acute respiratory infections 2017-2018 in the country expected three strains of flu (“Hong Kong”, “Brisbane” and the new Ukrainians strain “mi”), in connection with health care institutions in Kiev are preparing for the emergence of new pathogens of influenza.
