Data from Face ID can get to third parties.
Journalists argue that the developers got access to the camera TrueDepth and you can use images from it for their apps.
While third-party engineers do not have access directly to the Face ID feature.
Thus, the scanned face of the user will be taken to third-party companies that Apple has nothing to do. It will not be the same quality, which uses the Face ID: the data include the “50 types of expressions and a rough map of the person”. All data can be saved on the server of developers, as long as they agree not to sell them to third parties.
Is Apple’s decision has caused concern to several organizations, including the American civil liberties Union and the Center for democracy and technology. According to them, Apple may not be able to enforce their own rules of confidentiality – given the fact that the App Store more than 2 million applications.
“Privacy issues around the use of highly sophisticated technology of face recognition has been exaggerated. The real problem occurs after a data access to third-party developers,” said Jay Stanley, senior policy analyst American civil liberties Union.
Separately noted that unscrupulous developers can sell the data to third parties, for example advertisers. But to access the device, they still can’t.
According on 3 November representatives of the company Apple has not commented on this information.
