The Russian authorities require from Kiev to provide immediate access by consular officials to the detained contractor
The Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation urged Kiev to provide consular access to the detained in Ukraine Russian citizen Viktor Ageev. This is stated in the comments of the Department of information and press of the Russian foreign Ministry.
“Kiev, Ageeva depriving of the right to consular protection, violates the Consular Convention between Russia and Ukraine in 1993 and the Vienna Convention on consular relations of 1963. Urge the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine to ensure the unconditional implementation of the Ukrainian competent authorities of the provisions of these international instruments, and required to grant immediate access by consular officials to Ageev,” – said in comments to the Agency.
We will remind, the Russian contractor Ageeva born in 1995, the Ukrainian military detained as a part of DRG militants, which was neutralized on June 24 under the Groove in the Luhansk region.
On June 28, the defense Ministry said that captured in the Luhansk region the Russian Ageyev last year, “left in reserve”.
Mother Ageeva, his friends and former colleagues confirmed to reporters that after military service he left to serve in the army under the contract, which was signed in March 2017.
